Meet Your Dentist
Dr. Derek Goodman
Dr. Goodman grew up around Oliver Springs and Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1986. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Middle Tennessee State University in 1992 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee, Memphis, in 1996. After graduating, Dr. Goodman returned to work in Clinton and Knoxville, and he has been here now for 25 years.
In September of 2022, Dr. Goodman acquired Masterpiece Smiles, and we are now known as Masterpiece Family & Cosmetic Dentistry. We may have a new name, but the Clinton community can expect the same exceptional service. Dr. Goodman is well known for his excellent chairside manner, attention to detail, and punctuality.
Dr. Goodman has been married to Michele for 25 years. They have two daughters, who have left home for college and careers and left their parents as empty nesters. Dr. Goodman and his wife enjoy spending time together, traveling, and playing on the lake. He is also an avid hiker and enjoys landscaping.

Meet the Team
Registered Dental Assistant
Mindy joined the practice in 2011. She is a registered dental assistant with training in dental radiology, nitrous oxide monitoring, sealant certification, and coronal polishing. She has been married to her husband, Adam, for 16 years and is a mom to two daughters. Outside of work, Mindy enjoys photography, gardening, going to church, and watching her girls play sports.
Registered Dental Assistant
Teri has been in the dental field for 21 years. She has a passion for general dentistry, and getting to know patients is her favorite part of the job. She has been married to her husband, Steve, for 18 years. They have two daughters, and they keep her busy with their sporting activities and events. Teri loves all things outdoors, including camping, swimming, and sports.
Patient Coordinator
Barbara has worked in a range of roles within the dental field, including work in accounts receivable and insurance coordination. In her current role as patient coordinator, Barbara works closely with our valued patients. Outside of the office, Barbara is blessed with a wonderful family, including her fiancé, three adult children, mother, brother, and four granddaughters, as well as two bonus children and a dog named Mac.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Hayley joined the Masterpiece team in October 2019. She is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. Growing up, she always enjoyed dental appointments, and her dental hygienist inspired her career choice. Hayley enjoys educating patients throughout their dental journey and building relationships along the way. Outside of work, you’ll find Hayley traveling and spending time outdoors. Another fun fact is that she has an identical twin!
Registered Dental Hygienist
Kim was born and raised in the Corryton, Tennessee, area and joined the team in 2021. She strives to provide excellent patient care and enjoys getting to know her patients and teaching them how to take care of their oral health. Kim married her childhood sweetheart, Joel. He served in the U.S. Army as an Apache pilot for 21 years, and together they traveled the world. They are parents to two adult sons, whom they love to visit. Kim also enjoys swimming and going to church.
Registered Dental Assistant
Becky has worked in the dental field for almost 30 years and has loved it since day one. She enjoys being part of a team that helps people. “Changing smiles changes lives,” she says. Becky is married with one child, Breanna. In her spare time, Becky enjoys decorating, camping, and hiking. Her hidden talent is being somewhat of a MacGyver at home—she can glue, pin, tie, sew, zip-tie, and bungee as needed to make anything work.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Michele grew up moving around with her father, who served in the Army. They moved from Texas to East Tennessee when she was 15. After graduating from her dental hygiene program in 1996, Michele met her husband, Dr. Goodman. She has practiced in many wonderful dental practices, including her husband’s. Outside of the dental office, you’ll find Michele traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends at the lake. She is also an active member of her church.
