Oral sedation is given through a prescription drug. The sedative effects vary, depending on the type of drug that is given. Oral sedation can take several hours to fully wear off, meaning you will have to arrange for someone to drive you home.
IV sedation is administered through an IV. This option delivers heavy sedative effects and is used for more lengthy procedures.
